GREENSBORO — The city council made a sensible decision recently, voting to continue a successful police initiative. The initiative created a 12-member suppression unit that has compiled a number of arrests.

(6.23.08) Ethanol's local burden
GARNER — The congressional mandate to produce ethanol to reduce demand on oil was well intentioned, but poorly implemented. It has created a serious concern with food costs and it needs to be re-examined.
